I've seen the American remake. I don't doubt the original is better, but story-wise it's not something that interests me much so I haven't seen the original. I'm kinda picky about it nowadays.

I only found out afterwards that there was an original, but I wasn't watching non-western stuff at the time. From what I remember the remake was decent, especially considering how often they tend to screw it up.

That plot line seems interesting lol.

The last two good horrors I've seen, before this one, would be Evil Dead Rise and Venus (Spanish), but even movies I consider great don't tend to resonate w/ me that much.

Horror is like metal for me - it's basically my favorite genre, so I can't really do that lol. I just don't expect it to be scary, but instead to have a good story, acting, etc. The Sin basically gets all of it right (and more), and tells a type of story that I have deep interest in.

I think you've mentioned Meg 2 before, along w/ Deep Sea Rising which I'll probably get around to eventually. Sea Fever was good! I remember seeing it when it came out.

Evil Dead Rise is good, as long you don't expect it to be like original Evil Dead. It's closer to the remake.

Any particular movies, regardless of genre, that resonate w/ you? Like tell the type of story that you'd want to see/tell, and done properly rather than merely having some of the good elements present.
